{baby shower}

Today was my baby shower :) I have been so stinkin excited for it and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out! It was PERFECT. Thank you to everyone who came to share in our excitement :) We had a fantastic turn-out (I'm sad I didn't get a group shot) and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. My best friends Alisa, Jennica, Whitney & Amanda threw it for me. These girls are seriously amazing! 3 of them even drove clear up from St. George for the shower. How did I get so lucky?!

The theme was "nesting" and little birdies as you can see. So stinkin cute!

These little eggs were filled with questions like "What are you most excited about being a mommy?" and "What is your most embarrassing pregnant moment?" Answering those was one of my favorite parts of the shower! Also, every guest was to guess my waste size with ribbon as they arrived. Most were surprisingly close :)

Look at all that amazing food! Mmmm.

I just had to Court! :)

Macy & Rashelle from my ward.

The girls! I love my family so much. Kayshia and Kinley have grown up and I can't believe how big Kenna and Avonlea already are. PS... I swear my tummy is real. It looks like I stuffed a ball in my shirt in this pic :) hehe.

All the St. George girls: Jenn, Al, Whitt, me, Manda, and Cher
Notice how my belly button is now a perma-outy. Uh huh.

Trishy (isn't she GORGEOUS?) and grandma Pat. I love you!

Liz, me, Trishy & grandma Pat
I loved having you there!

Oh yeah. We are looking sexy in this one Court...

Erin & Cali; I love you girls!

High School flashback; Kaylynn, Tessa's darling little McCoy, Tessa, Karlee. So good to see you!

Is this not the cutest little bird?

Oh my goodness... I   {LOVE} these girls so much! Thank you for throwing me the perfect baby shower. And thank you to everyone who came, who gave me fantastic gifts, and who are such great friends and supports through everything.

Thank you Linds for taking group pics. Thanks to Shannon, Kellie, Rachel, Melissa Garrett and Lindsey for being there; I didn't get pictures with you :(

For those of you who have been/are pregnant, this post may be a little boring to you. To everyone else; here are all the things I didn't know about pregnancy before becoming pregnant...

  • It doesn't feel good. :) I always would see pregnant women and think, "Aww!" and now I think, "I feel your pain." Funny but SO true. It feels just how it looks; bloated and big. Even when I'm feeling well, pregnancy is a sacrifice.
  • That my body would change SO much. It truly is incredible to see your midsection swell to enormous proportions. Lance and I are amazed at how the human body can do it and then return to normalcy afterward. I have always been amazed at this but way more so now that it is happening to my body.
  • How much I would miss my flat tummy! lol
  • Morning sickness really isn't in the morning at all. It can be, but for me its either all day or in the evenings.
  • That pregnancy also comes with a list of not-so-fun symptoms including, but not limited to: constipation, very tender breasts, an achy back, peeing all the time (I knew that one), needing to eat every 30 minutes, prenatals can make you even more sick, crying for NO reason at all, dreams about Lance dying, feeling very tired, being unable to sleep on your stomach or back, etc.
  • That every single woman I talked to who has been pregnant would instantly jump into tips and tricks to avoid/help morning sickness (they were just trying to be helpful but it got old really fast).
  • That we would be able to interact with him even while he's still inside.
  • How incredibly much I would love this little guy inside of me already.
  • That I would be able to tell so many things about his personality already.
  • How awe inspiring and spiritual the first ultrasound would be.
  • How, when contemplating all the sacrifices Lance and I are going to have to make in having a little baby, it so doesn't even matter. It is already completely worth it! (Never thought I would say that after my crazy sickness the first 4 months :)
  • That it would bring Lance and I so much closer together.
  • That I would feel guilty for being able to experience this (even the downs) while there are so many out there who haven't been able to yet.
  • And most importantly, I've learned that the Lord's timing is so much better than our own.

{Snow Shoeing}

This last weekend, Lance and I and 3 other couples headed up to Joe's cabin for a little snowshoeing and campout adventure. We had such a blast! It was about a half a mile hike in, then we roasted hot dogs, played games, and laughed ourselves silly (as we always do).

It was so beautiful up there with all the snow!

Just before heading to the cabin.

The happy couple: Bryan & Erin. LOVE these two :)

Camille & Joe; the gracious hosts.

Andrew and Sutton; she was a little sleepy when we were playing "Bang".

Roasting hot dogs

Aw! I love my baby.

The only heat in the entire cabin was one wood burning stove. It stayed surprisingly warm but poor Sutton was FREEZING cold. Hence the layers and layers of blankets :) We pulled all the mattresses into the main room and all slept side-by-side with our heads to the fire. So nice and cozy... although, no one got much sleep. Definitely worth it though :)

My prego belly at 25 weeks. You can see I'm gaining back weight; today, I officially broke my weight barrier. Kind of odd to weigh 90 pounds last month and now weigh more than I ever have in my entire life! An almost 20 pound swing. I am so thankful to be feeling well and giving this baby (and my body) the things it needs. I have never been so happy about gaining weight :)

Saturday night we went to the BYU Lacrosse game with Andrew & Sutton which was also a blast.
What a fun weekend! Time for another adventure!
